Binh grew up in Long Beach, California and played two years of varsity volleyball at Long Beach Wilson High School. During high school he also played club volleyball for four years in Downey and Huntington Beach. Binh completed his undergraduate degree at California State University, Fullerton were he played two years on the men’s club volleyball team. While earning his bachelor’s degree in Biology, Binh was the boy’s varsity volleyball coach at Santiago high school in Orange County from 95-97. In 1997 he moved to San Diego to work at The Scripps Research Institute. Currently, Binh is a science teacher at the Francis Parker School and is raising two children with his wife.
